Curator-in-residence Anna Santomauro & Valerio Del Baglivo

Anna Santomauro and Valerio Del Baglivo will be curators in residence at Grand Union during 2017 & 2018. The curators will operate as a temporary office for public programming, expanding and challenging Grand Union’s ‘Notes On…’ and ‘Curatorial Curriculum’ programmes, through a series of talks, events and workshops. They will perform the role of shadow curator (as defined by Nuno Sacramento), establishing a reflective and critical conversation with Grand Union.

Anna Santomauro is an independent curator and researcher currently based in Birmingham (UK). She is the co-founder and chief curator at Vessel (Bari, Italy), a non-profit arts organisation that develops public programmes and alternative education projects to address contemporary social, political, and economic issues. She is currently PhD candidate at the University of Wolverhampton (UK).

Valerio Del Baglivo is a freelance curator, educator and perennial collaborator based in London. In 2017 he is curating ‘The Institute of Things to Come’ with artist Ludovica Carbotta – a season of exhibitions and workshops on how artists imagine future scenarios, at Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin. He is completing a PhD at Middlesex University, focused on public engagement and experimental pedagogy in self-initiated art institutions.
