In August ESP and Grand Union participated in Ceri Hand Gallery’s first Summer Fete.
Alongside stalls presented by artists from across the UK we showed a selection of publications by ESP members; Eastside Projects editions by Liam Gillick, David Rowan, Joanne Tatham & Tom O’Sullivan and the Yangjan Group and Grand Union editions by BAZ, Helen Brown, Harminder Judge and Kjersti G Andvig & Lars Laumann.
Artists’ performances and activities ran throughout the day. After a call-out for suggestions we together some activities and performances devised by members including:
– The Birmingham Beauty Bar, opened by artists Mathew Parkin and Joanne Masding, offering face masks, nail art, massage, wet-look-gel hairstyling, hair cuts
– The first ever Lazy Susan Painting Club led by graphic design duo An Endless Supply
– BAZ Summer Fete Games including ‘Splat the Studio Rat’ (with the opportunity to hit interchangeable art-world faces with a rounders bat)
For more information on other activities throughout the day see the Ceri Hand Gallery website.
