Overview
Initially presented by Art In America Magazine on the occasion of the artist’s solo exhibition Female Executioner at Gasworks, London in 2017, How She Survived is a YouTube playlist which brings together a loose array of videos from the platform. In consort with each other, these videos illustrate different methods of living, aging, and preservation; some women burn up, and others reach unexpected dotages; bundles of poisonous and healing substances are hung up to dry; videos warp with both analogue and digital decay.
The screening will showcase the artists ongoing collection accompanied by an introduction by Kim McAleese, Programme Director of Grand Union.
