“Sweet Dreams Are Made Of Cheese”

6 April 2018

6-8pm

Overview

“Dreams, at least daydreams, are compensations. Ernst Bloch argued that dreams of hope are important to foster and preserve, since they represent our radical or revolutionary urge to restructure society, so that we can finally achieve something, something, someplace we might can home.”
Deeper in the Pyramid, Melanie Jackson and Esther Leslie (2017)

As part of Digbeth First Friday Kirsty Clarke presented two cheese-based dishes at Grand Union. Both dishes through their dairy ingredients are said to encourage dream like states. Visitors joined us in a lactose-induced haze in the context of Melanie Jackson’s latest solo show, Deeper in the Pyramid.
