TEXT

As part of the exhibition Which of them went before, and which followed after, and which were together?
Simon Faithfull was invited to create a vinyl work for the windows in Grand Union’s project space.

Direct From This Window (117 degrees south-east, a view from the Bosphorus) is a laser cut vinyl taken from a digital drawing.

Faithfull has been wandering the world over the last 11 years, consistently making drawings on an electronic device that record his presence in a particular place, at a particular moment, somewhere on the surface of the planet. For more information on this body of Faithfull’s work and his wider practice see www.simonfaithfull.org

More information about the original exhibition and context for this work can be found at here.
