How She Survived: a online screening programmed by Jamie Crewe, with a chatroom

Initially presented by Art In America Magazine on the occasion of the artist’s solo exhibition Female Executioner at Gasworks, London in 2017, How She Survived is a YouTube playlist which brings together a loose array of videos from the platform. In consort with each other, these videos illustrate different methods of living, aging, and preservation; some women burn up, and others reach unexpected dotages; bundles of poisonous and healing substances are hung up to dry; videos warp with both analogue and digital decay.

How She Survived will be presented as a live online screening with a chatroom for people to comment alongside. This event forms part of Love & Solidarity, an exhibition by Jamie Crewe at Grand Union.

The screening will take place at cytu.be/r/howshesurvived on 19:30 GMT.
