Lucy Reynolds: A Feminist Chorus / A Tender Map

Publication (2021), Project by Lucy Reynolds, design by Rose Nordin, printed by The Holodeck.

Published on the occasion of A simultaneity of stories-so-far an exhibition stemming from Grand Unions 10 year anniversary, artist Lucy Reynolds has produced audio and text based work A Tender Map / A Feminist Chorus.

Plotting the creative geography of Grand Union A Tender Map / A Feminist Chorus this printed ‘score’ maps spoken and written word by people associated with the organisation. Containing four intersecting parts; Grand Union staff, Grand Union studio holders, Growing Project participants and Modern Clay the loose leaf score, designed by Rose Nordin, functions as a deconstructed publication, allowing for movement, reordering and remapping of the text.

Initially gathered as sound files and word docs, walks around studios, workshops, gardens, galleries, and kitchens this became a way of entering and honouring those spaces and the art being made within them, during a time when speaking together and entering public spaces had not been possible.
