Since 2019 we have been working in partnership with St. Anne’s Hostel and Spring Housing creating community garden spaces connected to properties across the City.
We support weekly engagement sessions with residents at their accommodation offering important moments of respite and connection with nature and each other through gardening, sharing food and creative activities.
Our original allotment garden at St. Anne’s Hostel in Digbeth continues to be our Mother garden and, as well as providing produce for the kitchen, it’s a nursery of seedlings and established plants for our other sites. All of our gardens use permaculture growing techniques with composting and soil health at its heart. Our planting plans are developed with participants to support as much biodiversity as possible and to continually think about regenerative possibilities for both people and land.
