Grand Union is hosting the first in a series of events exploring what it would mean for art institutions to practice with radical care and transparency. This first event will focus on codes of practice and organisational values, including sharing some of Grand Union’s own ways of working.
We will be joined by Sarah Williams of the Feminist Center for Creative Work, LA, Tereza Stejskalova of tranzit.cz and Feminist (Art) Institution, Prague, and Alba Colomo of la Sala, Nottingham and La Escocesa, Barcelona.
The event series Instituting with Care is curated by Lucy Lopez in partnership with a number of small arts organisations, including Arts Catalyst, Sheffield, The Luminary, St Louis, and la Sala, Nottingham, and will result in an edited publication of the same name, forthcoming in 2022.
This event will take place on Zoom and will be recorded. If you have any access requirements please get in touch at info@grand-union.org.uk

She has recently joined the team of La Escocesa, in Barcelona.
Tereza Stejskalová is a curator and researcher studying (post-)socialist visual culture from feminist and postcolonial perspectives. She publishes texts in academic and non-academic journals (e.g., Artmargins Online, Journal of Visual Art Practice) and (co-)curates projects and exhibitions (Matter of Art Biennale, Prague, 2020; Upon All of Us Equally, Bucharest, 2019; Biafra of Spirit, National Gallery in Prague, 2017).
