The Queer Art Youth Collective are coming to Birmingham!
10 July, 12–4PM
Public House, 9 Priory Square, Birmingham, B4 7LG
Join us for a workshop by Birmingham-based artist De’Anne Crooks, hosted with the Queer Art Youth Collective.
Combining photography and poetry, this workshop asks participants to photograph an item that represents their queerness. Write me up is an opportunity to explore something that symbolises our individual queer identities, no matter how seemingly mundane or spectacular. This object of queerness will be used as writing prompt to create poetry and performance.
ONLINE: 12-4pm on Zoom
Our online sessions take place on ZOOM. Every term we give out a number of bursaries so that our members can access art supplies in order to continue their own practices.
Before and after each workshop, the zoom is open for people who want to get support from our team on personal projects. Just drop in and say hello.
ACCESS: For any specific access requirements including Closed Captions or BSL, please get in touch with as much notice as possible and we will do our best to meet your needs.
IN PERSON: 12-4pm at Public House
THIS SESSION WILL BE RUN FROM BIRMINGHAM.
The QYAC London Space will be open like normal for this date.
After each workshop the space is meant to be used as an open access art space where participants can access 1 on 1 support on personal projects from our team, free art supplies, tools and of course snacks!
ACCESS: Wheelchair accessible venue with an accessible toilet.
TRAVEL FUNDS AVAILABLE ON REQUEST.
