Join us for a roundtable discussion with Seecum Cheung, who will be joined by Morgan Quaintance, with whom she collaborated with to make her film The Dutch Window, currently on show at Grand Union.
In this lunchtime discussion, join Cheung and Quaintance in their discussions on the process that brought The Dutch Window to fruition. From decisions surrounding the methodology of interviewing, to the formal aspects of shooting and filming, participants will have a rare opportunity to learn more about the key aspects of production of the work – and the characters that played a role in its development.

Morgan Quaintance is a London-based writer, musician, broadcaster and curator. Born in South London, he is a regular contributor to Art Monthly, and has written for The Guardian, The Wire, Art Review, Frieze, Rhizome.org, and a number of curatorial sites and blogs. He is a contributing editor for E-Flux’s online publishing portal Art Agenda, is a founding member of the curatorial collective DAM PROJECTS, and was the 2015/16 curatorial fellow at Cubitt Gallery, London. As a presenter he has worked with the BBC, Channel Four, Artfund, the Royal Opera House, National Theatre and Roundhouse, and is also the producer of Studio Visit, a monthly hour-long interviews-based programme, broadcast on Resonance 104.4 FM, featuring international contemporary artists as guests.
Seecum Cheung is a Rotterdam-based artist filmmaker. Born in Coventry, Cheung moved to Rotterdam in 2014 to complete her MA in Fine Arts at the Piet Zwart Institute. Cheung was recently announced as the 2017 winner of the Anni and Heinrich Sussman Foundation, additionally receiving a substantial research grant from CBK Rotterdam with support from Fonds Kwadraat. Her recent shows include a solo presentation with Syndicate Gallery (DEU) Poppositions (BE/2017) and the Aesthetica Art Prize (UK, 2017) Upcoming exhibitions include a group show in Fort bij Abcoude, Amsterdam with Suns & Stars, Bradwolff Projects and Natuurmonumenten in September 2017.
