Writing Workshop with Cindy Sissokho

27 May 202310am-12pm

Join us for a writing workshop that will be exploring methods of journaling, led by writer, curator and cultural producer Cindy Sissokho as part of the public programme for our current exhibition ‘Simon Says/Dadda’ by Beverley Bennett.

The intimate act of journaling is a crucial part in the ongoing process of personal understanding of emotional states and making sense about the complexity of histories. Inspired by the recent writing ‘Ordinary Notes’ (2023) by writer and scholar Christina Sharpe, the workshop will flow through multiple writing exercises on the power of individual and collective writing methods.

Please note, booking is essential and there are limited spaces on the workshop. Spaces will be allocated on a first come first served basis and there will be a waiting list once the spaces are filled.

If you would like to take part, please email us at info@grand-union.org.uk.

The workshop will take place at Grand Union gallery. Unfortunately, we do not currently have a working lift. We realise this means we are not a fully accessible space. We are in the process of redeveloping a new building which will have lift access.
